Comments: Hi guys, I was impressed with the website! Someone has been really putting a lot of time and effort into this. Congrats on the award for it! I have an E-mail address for my crew at Aero medical, and I will make sure they get a link to this site in my next e-mail out! Show them how things are done in Glasgow ,VA! We have a flight service and an ambulance service. Great people to work with for the most part. We have a CCT service and I just wrote an expanded scope of practice for EMT-P for Alameda County so I'll be hiring new EMT-P's for this service . On our flights I usually send a RN and an EMT-P, OCC an RN and EMT. The paramedics in the Expanded Scope of Practice get 1st shot at the flights. SO, if you know anyone even mildly interested in heading out this way....Have them contact me. Maybe you know someone in paramedic school? Paramedics are in big demand here, and if you have firefighter you're one- up for some of the cities. I had no idea that you had a rescue squad for junior's! I just turned 19 and I am a paramedic in training in a rural part of Michigan's heartland. I am always an advocate for getting children involved in the community, but what if you get a particularly difficult call? I have only been in EMS and fire for about a year and I have seen some things that would give me trouble sleeping for a night or two. My first MVA was a critical with four teenagers that where no older than me! I did my job, but my first couple of minutes on scene where tough because the kids where bad, one needed a transfusion in the field because he was hemorrhaging so severely. The scene was grotesque and I never thought that a person could look like that and still be alive. I would never have let a child see that. I know that I am also very young myself, but At least I was eighteen when I started. I just don't think that most children should see that sort of thing if they do not have to. Life will happen soon enough, I know that if I had thought about my choice of becoming a paramedic, I would have waited and done it when I became older and not only had the years under my belt, but also the life experience. I still applaud your efforts of providing quality EMS service to your community, keeping a volunteer squad running is even tougher, I just disagree about letting kids, no matter how mature they are, deal with impossible situations that so often are tragic.
