Communications

Hit Counter

Maintaining communications between Rockbridge Emergency Operations Center, the hospital, and our members is vitally important.  Rockbridge County has several repeater sites situated throughout the county to ensure that there are no "dead spots" where we cannot communicate.

We rely on several Motorola radio systems for our communication needs.

Max-Trac The radio we use in all of our ambulances is the Motorola MaxTrac.  We have three Maxtracs in each of our ambulances.  Two in the front - one for high-band, the other for low-band, and another high-band in the patient compartment.

HT-1250 The HT-1250 is used by our cardiac Techs and Shock Trauma Techs.

HT-1000 The HT-1000 is used by most of our full members.

Raduis GP-350 The Radius GP-350 is used by our Certified Associate members.

Radius SP-50 The Radius SP-50 is used by our trainee members.

Minitor II The Minitor II is given to all Junior members upon their being voted into the Junior Crew.  This allows the Juniors to respond to the building whenever a tone goes off.

All members are assigned a radio or pager upon being voted onto the crew.  Each of these radios feature toning ability.  Meaning that a channel is set aside for our alert tones.
