Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squads

Call of the Quarter

A Call of the Quarter is a call that has been selected by our crew's Executive Committee to be presented at the Virginia Association of Volunteer Rescue Squad's (VAVRS) Quarterly District Meeting.

A district meeting is a quarterly gathering of all the rescue squads associated with a particular district, in our case, it is District 1. There they compete with the other squads in Basic Life Support, (BLS), Advanced Life Support, (ALS), Emergency Vehicle Operator's Curriculum, (EVOC), and any other contest that the hosting squad can provide.

At the end of the contests, the meeting will proceed, followed by a banquet luncheon, and the presentation of awards. Award categories are usually in BLS, ALS, EVOC, Most miles traveled, and of course, the Activity Report, which includes the "Call of the Quarter".

Calls below that are tagged with the Call of the Year were submitted at the annual
VAVRS Convention for the Call of the Year award.
